For Lunar New Year, I designed custom red pockets as gifts for Queens of Dim Sum. As the year of the fire horse, it seemed most fitting to use this well-known pop culture character. This design challenge was interesting as I had to find a way to creatively represent different colours while printing with only 1 ink. I ended up using defined simple shapes that maintained the pixelated aesthetic while creating varying shades in the design at the same time. I also like the way it added movement to the subject. I made a pixelated version of the Queens of Dim Sum logo to match the overall aesthetic.
